Intern Spotlight: Arkin Kathuria
During his Winter 2025 co-op term, Arkin Kathuria, a fourth-year Bachelor of Architectural Studies student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture (Cambridge, Ontario) joined COOKFOX as an architectural intern.
From his very first day, Arkin was immersed in the renovation of a theater of a private school in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He contributed to the project team across research, concept development, and schematic design, working closely with project architects, firm partners, and colleagues.
Arkin also initiated and developed a detailed Revit model of the existing campus, carefully translating 1970s architectural drawings into a fully realized BIM model to support both internal design work and consultant coordination. Multiple site visits gave him the opportunity to document existing conditions, capture photography, and take part in on-site design brainstorming.
“My intern experience at COOKFOX was extremely rewarding. I was able to be fully immersed in the project that I was assigned to, and create connections with many coworkers and industry professionals, and really get to know what a career in architecture can look like.” he said.
We’re grateful to Arkin for his many contributions and wish him the best as he returns to Waterloo to complete his degree.
