Portrait of Arzan Sam Wadia

Arzan Sam Wadia joined the first iteration of the firm Richard Cook & Associates in 2002.

From the start, he was an integral member of the design team for the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, the world’s first LEED Platinum skyscraper. Other notable COOKFOX projects that Arzan has worked on include South Street Seaport; Visitors Center at the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap, Cambodia; and the One Congress Street competition in Boston, USA.

In his current role as Director of Information Technology at COOKFOX, Arzan helps shape and direct the firm’s technology needs. Bridging the gap between architecture and technology, he keeps the firm at the leading edge of technology implementation in the realm of CAD, BIM, 3D Printing, and VR.

Arzan earned his Bachelors of Architecture degree from Rizvi College of Architecture in Bombay, India. Arzan studied and interned in Graz, Austria as part of his undergraduate studies. He then moved to New York to pursue a Masters in Urban Design at the Pratt Institute. While at Pratt, he spent a summer in Venice at the Institute for Advanced Architectural Studies.

Prior to joining COOKFOX, Arzan worked at Volker Giencke Architects in Graz, where he focused on a variety of projects including the restoration of the 12th century Abtei Seckau and the city hospital in Bregenz, Austria. Arzan also had a stint at Beyer Blinder Belle in New York, working on the masterplan guidelines for the Ground Zero site in the aftermath of 9/11.

As a child growing up in Bombay, India, Arzan would accompany his dad to construction sites. Seeing the transformation from a dusty beat up shell to a beautiful space was exhilarating and inspired him to become an architect. Relentless curiosity by nature and practicing architecture opened up a whole new world of exploration. As he grew up, he tinkered with motorcycles, not realizing that he was honing problem solving skills that would eventually unlock future opportunities. Technology, especially computers and the way they shape our lives, has always piqued Arzan’s interest. COOKFOX allows him to do both and solve technological problems that help shape the firm’s direction.

Riding his motorcycle to work every day awakens his senses like nothing else.
