Deric Mizokami, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Deric joined COOKFOX in 2015 and has primarily worked on the 39-41 West 23rd Street project starting from Schematic Design through ongoing Construction Administration. He has focused on MEPF and structural coordination. The new 24-floor condominium project infills an urban gap in the middle of Manhattan’s Flatiron district and offers city residents direct access to integrated planted loggias. 39-41 West 23rd Street combines Deric’s strong belief that designing environmentally responsible buildings is inherent to design with his personal desire to spend time outside in nature. Deric has also been an integral team member for winning design competitions for St. John’s Terminal and other workplace projects.
Deric grew up in Southern California, close to the mountains, desert, and ocean. In addition to attending school in California’s Central Coast, he studied architecture for one year in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he developed his love for sketching. Prior to joining COOKFOX, Deric worked on a multi-use high rise at REX Architecture, and several single-family residences at Studio DB and Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis.
