Portrait of Arno Adkins.

Arno joined COOKFOX Architects in 2010 and has since excelled working across a variety of scales and project typologies. His early projects include the renovation of a historical private residence in Garrison, New York and the design of 301 East 50th Street, a luxury residential building in Manhattan. Arno is currently the project architect for several projects in New York City including One South First, a mixed-use tower at the northern end of the Domino Sugar masterplan on the Williamsburg waterfront. The tower includes residential and workplace components above a retail base and was designed with an innovative precast façade utilizing 3D printed formwork and a unique energy efficient heating and cooling system. He is also leading the design of a ground-up residential condominium tower within the historic Ladies Mile District on West 23rd Street, and 512 West 22nd Street, a new office building along the High Line that focuses on biophilic design and sets new standards for health and productivity in the modern workplace. He is also project architect for a new modern workplace and urban streetscape in the Hudson Square District.

While earning his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, Arno studied abroad in Copenhagen and interned in London, Boston and New York City. Upon graduation he spent time at Iu + Bibliowicz Architects, focusing on commercial interiors and residential work and then ImreyCulbert where he worked on several museum and gallery projects including the Kuwait National Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage project. He then moved to TEN Arquitectos where he contributed to a variety of design proposals and projects including 300 Ashland, a large mixed-use project within the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cultural District.

Arno is originally from Ohio; however, spent most of his formative years in Las Vegas where he saw rapid and irresponsible urban growth in a challenging natural environment. At COOKFOX, Arno takes the lessons he learned there and elsewhere to make smarter, more environmentally responsible choices in his work.
