Luciana joined COOKFOX Architects in 2007. She now has decades of professional experience and a vast expertise in multi-family residential design. Her early contributions include work on the LEED Platinum renovation of the 32nd floor of the Empire State Building, and the Lucida, a condominium on the Upper East Side. Among others, she also completed work on a luxury apartment building at 301 East 50th Street and an 18-story residential building at 150 Charles Street on the west side of Manhattan. Luciana is involved with most of the multi-family residential projects in the office and in all phases of design and she has recently developed all the unit layouts for 378 West End Avenue, a new luxury condominium project on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Prior to joining COOKFOX, Luciana worked for four years with Meltzer/Mandl Architects on several affordable housing projects in the New York City metropolitan area before moving on to four years with Costas Kondylis & Partners to work on various luxury multi-family and mixed use NYC design projects. In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she also worked for over five years with reputed modernist Brazilian architect Sergio Bernardes on a variety of biophilic design projects ranging from single family homes to city master planning.

Luciana was born and raised in Rio, surrounded by the views, sounds, and smells of beautiful beaches and tropical forest, and by fine papers, inks, letrasets and square sets. At COOKFOX she is also surrounded by nature, her main source of inspiration for designing buildings that are complementary to the urban and human natures.
