Spencer Lapp, AIA, LEED GA

Throughout his years of experience at COOKFOX, Spencer has developed an expertise in environmentally conscious and conceptually driven design. Since joining the studio in 2015, Spencer has worked on a broad range of mission-driven projects: from St Johns Terminal, Google’s 1.3 million square foot biophilic workplace, to boutique single family residences. He previously worked on Terminal Warehouse, the adaptive reuse of a West Chelsea rail depot, as well as 512 W 22nd Street, a black terracotta clad commercial tower along the High Line. He is currently focused on overseeing  the construction administration of Echelon Film Production Studios in Brooklyn, where he’s integrating ecological driven principles into the film studio typology.

Spencer has a keen interest in exploring the intersection of ecological biodiversity and the built environment. He has been the resident COOKFOX beekeeper, managing the 100,000+ honey bees and other native pollinators that inhabit the studio’s verdant terraces. He has fostered a hands-on collaborative approach, with a focused attention to detail.  Working closely with client and consultant teams, Spencer brings in-depth knowledge of innovative sustainability strategies and extensive experience with the intricacies of the design process.
